Hi, I’m Asia -- functional nutritionist and lifestyle coach, lover of beans, balance, and bringing friends together for a good party [cue the Paul Oakenfold background music]...
Since leaving my job in dietetics, the path to here hasn’t been direct. Some of the milestones along the way include:

Raising two girls, now 10 and 13.

Falling in and out of love with Crossfit (pilates is my new obsession!).

Committing to a daily mindfulness practice.

Taking looooong walks on the beach while working out what really makes ME happy.
I was frustrated working as a dietitian, so when my kids were old enough for me to dive back into it again, I had to really look at what wasn’t working before.
Here’s what I uncovered:

My clients struggled with lasting habit change. I’d hand them a meal plan and expect them to follow it. But what I didn’t understand is that change happens when people understand their motivations, their values and their current limitations. The focus needs to be on implementation of recommendations. You need a strategy!

New research was emerging that didn’t necessarily align with what I was taught in my dietetics degree. The focus was shifting to healthy fats instead of no fat, eating the whole egg instead of just the whites, fasting instead of snacking and walking instead of long runs. Small changes get you big results.

Finally, lifestyle and daily habits can’t be ignored when it comes to your health goals (hello, late weeknights with wine, or scrolling while your kids are talking to you). True well-being is about so much more than just your food on the fork. A whole-body approach matters.
I knew I had to widen my net if I was going to help my clients feel strong, confident and connected to themselves and their family.
I became a functional health coach so I could help people like you have a fresh take on nutrition, dieting and being well and give you the tools you need for a deeper change.
